Conferences

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10:23-25

There is a Scriptural basis for having regular convocations of the brethren. Under the law, the nation of Israel was commanded to gather three times in the year to keep certain designated feasts unto the Lord. These gatherings were important to help preserve the national unity, to encourage spiritual revival, and to maintain a common vision for Israel’s role among the nations. Under the new covenant today, we don’t have the commandments requiring us to keep these feasts; but the precedent is still there for us to assemble together, as brethren in God’s “holy nation.” These same things, unity, spiritual revival and common vision, are important to us as members of the body of Christ. According to the vision we have at SFMI, our objective in having conferences is to facilitate the gathering together of brethren from many assemblies of believers: for ministry, for reporting, and for testifying. It also gives us an opportunity to inform the brethren of our mission work in the various harvest fields. Our ultimate goal is to encourage one another in the faith. Especially where the churches are small, conference ministry is beneficial towards adding a deeper level of ministry and spiritual insights. Conferences present opportunities for spiritual renewal, for revival, and for mutual comfort.

Conferences are vital to the growth of the saints and the church. Individuals and families in a wide-range of locales have the opportunity to gather, be encouraged by scriptural teaching, praying together, ministering to one another, and breaking bread. Consider joining us at the next one.
