Send – Go
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20
Over many years, Shield of Faith Mission International has compiled a rich history of mission work. This experience has given us a balanced perspective on missionary work and an understanding of what hinders or helps missionary service. With this, we can help others follow God’s call to missions.
SFMI Missions Sending Experience
We believe that the Holy Spirit calls out missionaries for the work of missions. Their local church acknowledges this calling. Those who are called are then separated from their church and sent out for the work of the ministry. [see Acts 13:1-4]
The Shield of Faith Mission exists to help facilitate this calling. Our desire is to function together as a ministry team, and not just to facilitate anyone who is intent to go on a mission. We must be compatible with the prospective missionary, having a shared vision and understanding of God’s methods for building His church. In partnership, we work with our missionaries as a support arm for their work. Our services include receiving and channeling finances, helping with documentation, writing prayer letters and communications, and providing personal/pastoral counsel.

Steps to Partnering with SFMI
We believe that the Holy Spirit calls and commissions brethren for the work of missions. Along with the calling, we also need acknowledgment from their local church of witness to the calling. For those who have this calling and who are compatible with our vision and principles, SFMI is available to help in their ministry.
The first step for those who desire to join the SFMI mission team is to contact the office and request an application. Once we receive your application, we will contact you with the following steps. The following steps may vary depending on your background and previous experience. In most cases, you would need to go through the SFMI training program or have equivalent training. You will also need to get approval from your local assembly leadership.
Another thing to know is, Shield of Faith Mission International is a faith-based mission, meaning that we do not require missionaries to have raised a certain amount of support before they go to the field. Neither SFMI nor the missionary associated with SFMI will make any appeal for finances, other than to the Lord of the harvest. Solicitations are not to be made in the name of SFMI, through its publications, or its general mailing list. We believe that God will meet our needs if it is His work that we are doing. He is the one who puts it in the hearts of His people to help support the mission work.

Short-Term Ministry Opportunities
Short-term ministry opportunities are available as they present themselves. These opportunities are for those we know and are in fellowship with. We have had many called to serve on the field for a few weeks or up to a few months. Some have helped with building projects, childcare, special outreach events, and teaching ministry.
If you desire to participate in a ministry opportunity, please contact us to see what is available and how we can best assist you in accomplishing what God has placed on your heart. We do not have opportunities for everyone, and we screen those interested to ensure they will be a good fit for the project and compatible with the missionaries on the field.
